THE DR. BILDIR INGREDIENT GUIDE

Understand what is inside.

What is EGF? What does INCI mean? And how does collagen in skincare differ from collagen taken as a supplement? Find clear explanations connected to our products.

Signalling substances

EGF · growth factor

EGF stands for Epidermal Growth Factor. It is a signalling protein. The name sh-Oligopeptide-1 in a cosmetic ingredient list refers to a biotechnologically produced ingredient corresponding to EGF.

What does this mean for your skincare?

In BOOST-UP and DOUBLE, EGF is part of a complex with four further signalling peptides. EGF and signalling peptides are not interchangeable names for every ingredient.

The European Commission explains its register of cosmetic ingredients here. An entry helps identify an ingredient; it does not demonstrate the efficacy of our finished product.

Signalling substances

Signalling peptides

Peptides consist of linked amino acids. Here, signalling peptides describes the peptide ingredients in the cosmetic complex. EGF is one specific ingredient within it.

What does this mean for your skincare?

The five INCI names in BOOST-UP and DOUBLE are sh-Oligopeptide-1 and -2, plus sh-Polypeptide-1, -11 and -9. The effects of a finished product depend on its complete formula.

Hydration

Hyaluronic acid · 4D hyaluronic acid

Hyaluronic acid binds water. In cosmetic skincare it is used as a humectant.

What does this mean for your skincare?

4D hyaluronic acid describes a hyaluronic acid complex in the formula. It is not a separate ingredient name in the ingredient list. BOOST-UP combines this complex with further moisture-binding ingredients.

Skincare

Niacinamide · vitamin B3

Niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3. The cosmetic ingredient list uses the name Niacinamide.

What does this mean for your skincare?

Niacinamide complements BOOST-UP and DOUBLE to care for the skin barrier. It is a separate ingredient alongside the signalling peptide complex.

Two forms of use

Collagen

Collagen is a structural protein. With our products, it is helpful to distinguish topical skincare from food supplements.

Topical skincare

Soluble Collagen is an ingredient in our skincare, including BOOST-UP.

Food supplement: RECOVERY MED+

RECOVERY MED+ contains bovine collagen hydrolysate: 5,000 mg per sachet. It is taken as a food supplement. The two forms of use should not be equated.

From within

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is a vitamin and an ingredient in RECOVERY MED+. One sachet contains 80 mg of vitamin C.

What does this mean for your skincare?

Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of skin. This statement refers to vitamin C.

Skincare

Panthenol

Panthenol is a skincare ingredient in PROTECTING SCAR. You can recognise it in the ingredient list by the name Panthenol.

What does this mean for your skincare?

In the scar cream, it complements the formula alongside further moisture-binding ingredients and lipids. SCAR is only used on fully closed skin.

The essentials

INCI · ingredient list

INCI is the standardised naming system for cosmetic ingredients. It helps identify the same ingredient across different products and languages.

What does this mean for your skincare?

A familiar ingredient can appear under a less familiar INCI name: EGF is listed as sh-Oligopeptide-1. You can also find complete ingredient lists on our product pages.
